Heartthrob of millions, Prashant Tamang is ready to add yet another feather to his cap. The soft spoken Indian Idol
season three winner was all smiles at a press-meet on Monday at the Indreni- complex, New Baneshwor.
The occasion, press release of the movie “Gorkha Paltan”, Tamang’s debut into the silver-screen. It was announced that the movie will have a nationwide release on Friday, November 5. Narayan Rayamajhi, director as well as musician of the film who has also sung one of the songs from the soundtrack shared, “The film revolves around the struggle, hardship of Gurkha soldiers who leave their family and friends and join foreign armies.”
Gorkha Paltan tells the story of a young man who is deeply in love with his newly wed wife; but no sooner has he exchanged vows of happy life together he has to join the army, leaving his beloved wife. More than a romantic flick, it depicts the story of myriad brave Gorkha soilders and their love and patriotism towards the motherland.
Gopal Thapa, Soniya KC, Vinaya Lama, Shree Thapa, Soni Gurung, Ranjita Gautam, Giri Prasad Pun, Sher Bahadur Gurung, Kabita Ale and veteran actor Sunil Thapa complete the cast of this movie brought to the audience by Rajesh Bansal, the producer, according to whom,”The story-line of the film is rooted in Nepal and showcases the lifestyle of Gurkhas.”
Singer turned actor, Tamang revealed that he could relate with the story-line and it was quite similar to his own life-experiences; thus making it easier for him to get into the character.
